Scheduling

How to schedule Instagram and Facebook together without posting to the wrong account

A practical Antrapost walkthrough: choose the right Page and profile, adapt the copy, schedule the post, and check each result.

Before you start: check both connections

You need an authorized Facebook Page and a professional Instagram account connected to Antrapost. Check the name of each destination in Settings before preparing the post. If a connection has lost permission, reconnect it first; choosing a future date will not restore access.

Prepare an image or video you can use on both networks. Instagram requires visual media in this workflow. Facebook can also publish text alone, but a text-only post is not compatible with Instagram. Open the file and check its crop, mobile readability, and usage rights.

  • Facebook destination: the exact Page, not your personal profile.
  • Instagram destination: the exact professional account with valid authorization.
  • Shared media: a visual file suitable for both posts.

Step 1: select only the two intended accounts

When you open the Antrapost editor, available accounts may already be selected, or a previous draft may restore a selection. Under “Choose accounts,” click “None,” then select only the intended Facebook Page and Instagram profile. Read the full account names if several look similar.

Saved account groups can speed up a recurring combination, but review the group whenever you change connections or work for a different brand. If two accounts on the same network need different copy, create separate posts: the editor customizes text by network, not by individual account.

Step 2: start with one idea and adapt the copy

Write the base message, then review the Facebook and Instagram tabs. Antrapost lets you customize the text for each network. A shop might include its address and a clickable link on Facebook, while the Instagram version can lead with the product benefit and refer readers to the profile link. Links in Instagram post captions are not clickable.

Read the editor warnings before scheduling. Instagram will be skipped if it has no image or video. If a combination of files is unsuitable for Facebook, adjust the media. “Post to 1 of 2 networks” means one network will not receive this post.

Step 3: schedule and verify the exact destinations

Click “Schedule” and choose a date and time in your local time zone, at least five minutes from now. The editor offers one-hour and next-morning shortcuts; always read the displayed date before confirming.

The final dialog shows the number of accounts, each destination name, and any network that will be skipped. Read that list before clicking “Continue.” If you see an extra profile or a missing network, cancel and fix the selection or media first.

  • Does the list show only the intended Page and profile?
  • Are both networks eligible, with none marked as skipped?
  • Is the scheduled time right for this campaign?

Step 4: check each result without creating duplicates

After the scheduled time, open the dashboard history and check Facebook and Instagram separately. A scheduled or processing status does not mean the post is already visible. Once a destination is marked complete, check the final post on that network too.

If one destination fails while the other succeeds, inspect the error and fix its cause. The “Retry” action in the history retries failed destinations only. Creating a second post for both networks could duplicate the one that already succeeded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use exactly the same copy on Facebook and Instagram?

Yes, but check links and references to the media. Antrapost also lets you customize the copy by network; multiple accounts on the same network share that customization within one post.

Can I publish from a personal Instagram account?

Antrapost publishing requires a professional Instagram account with the appropriate permissions.

Why does the editor show more than two accounts?

It may initially select all available accounts or restore a draft. Click “None” and select just the two destinations you intend to use.

What if Facebook succeeds and Instagram fails?

Do not make a new post for both. Read the Instagram error in history, fix the cause, and use “Retry”; Antrapost retries only failed destinations.
