The total includes spaces and line breaks and counts emoji by Unicode code points. A compound emoji can add multiple characters. We also show a count without whitespace. Results may differ from a platform’s own counter.
How are words and hashtags counted?
Words are estimated by splitting text on whitespace. Hashtags are counted when a # at the start or after whitespace is followed by letters, numbers, or underscores. Repeated hashtags are counted separately.
Is my caption stored or sent anywhere?
